Don't know.Would be nice if it was all inclusive with a better description of just how they decide their ratings. To me traffic would be a big turn off no matter how wide the bike lane.I"d rather ride low traffic roads with no bike lane and wear a blaze orange vest and have appropriate lights at night. No shoulder is a bigger deal in the mountains, around here I may run up into someones yard or into a marsh ditch.get dirty but not dead. There are a plethora of very good bike roads some closed off to regular traffic in Belleplain state forest that are totally ignored. The gravel roads of Lebanon are largely ignored and that has to be some of the best biking in NJ.

Al, I spent a day down your way this summer, and I was impressed by this straightaway here. That has to be one of the longest absolutely flat-straight runs in NJ.

I used to live 2 miles from there.I could walk there in less then an hour. That is blacktop but more of a macadam, sometimes rough.Woods are thick on either side.Nice stretch in fall, wet enough to have a lot of red maple and tupelo in there.Good bike routes all through there.
