For those who may be interested, today is the birthday of the late, great, Johnny Cash.

I always liked watching this video of Johnny Cash doing his rendition of Trent Reznor's Hurt.
Not only for the music but for the video clips of his life that flash throughout the video.

The clips hit home with me as I get older, driving home the realization of how short life is. It is sad to see how Cash progressed from a young, vibrant being to a crippled man on death's doorstep.

82 years seems like a long time until you're more than half way there.

He didn't live the most health life which makes one age much more quickly.

You comment about being half way there hits home though. I look around me at people I know and I am always asking my kids if I look as old as they do. I am hoping they never tell me the truth.

It was a short life, but he did what he loved (although he could have made some better choices along the way). He was certainly blessed with a full, interesting life. I'll feel fortunate if I make it to 82 years!

This one has been in my head for a few days. Another one from his newer albums (not sure how to embed it)
