I can believe this. Hermman is on the 1974 quad map, and there were a few structures very close to Hermman City proper shown.

I grew up with the Cramers, Ken and Betty Jane. I was just wondering why this "new" post was started now. They are part of the Pines, as is Betty's Mom (Helene),and Uncle Rod, Hollis, Court, Janice, Shirley, Gussie, and of course, Leon! They and the others will be alive in our hearts as long as we who knew them remember. The Hermann City hotel is gone. Someday we will be gone. Who will remember then? Will they be just an epitaph and a headstone, or a collective memory of all things Piney? I hope this site helps achieve the latter.

That's some quality prose there.
