Have been working on this new map but it's taking awhile to finish. So I put together a new preview version in the form of four .kmz files that work in Google Earth, Garmin Basecamp and Garmin GPS units. I posted an earlier preview version in another thread, but this is an all-new map that has been greatly enhanced. It's sort of a modern version of the nineteenth century Cook Topo where the little trees signify the type and density of the forest cover (based on NJDEP 2012 landcover data). The preview covers a 20km x 20km area in the vicinity of the Forked River Mountains.
The Montana and a few other Garmin handhelds can use all four files together, while other models can only use one at a time. This is covered in detail in the documentation.
