All,

We traveled to Cabelas today in Hamburg PA to check for boots for Jessica. Unfortunately, because of her small feet we could not get knee high boots for her. I am going to have to cut off her waders to have knee highs. In any event we enjoyed ourselves, and along with the in-laws we spent 3 hours in the store. If you have never been there you might want to check it out. Go early!

Sorry for the dark photo’s but in order to not bother the other shoppers I turned off the flash.

The Aquarium area.

BTW, Bob..they did not even have any of the uninsulated boots you asked about there. I was disappointed in that area. You are best off shopping online for them.

I was in the WV store back in May. There's a mountain in the middle of the store with dozens of different animals on it (all stuffed of course) and with streams running around it. Every wall was lined with heads, mostly deer, but other things as well.

That place is great too. My friend Tim works there with his father Pete (tall white haired guy) and they're top notch mechanics and sailors. Pete's father, who passed away about 10 years ago, was one of the last real baymen at the Jersey shore. Tim, his brother, and I still hunt out of a Barnegat Bay sneakbox their grandfather built over 40 years ago.

I highly recommend the Yuengling Brewery tour if you are going all the way to Cabelas.
Yuengling is only about another 20 miles north in Pottsville.
The building is older than dirt and built on the side of a mountain.
The original cold storage was in caves down below that you were allowed to walk through in 2005.
I am not sure they still allow it. The caves had been closed prior to 2005 because of safety concerns but Dick Yuengling said to hell with it and opend them up for their 175th anniversary in '05.
And at the end of the tour...... :guinness:
