There was a bird sitting by our coop for at least 30 minutes earlier today. From far away it looked like a hawk (we've been having issues with hawks going after the chickens) but when I let the dogs out, it didn't fly away. I thought it might be injured so I took a walk out, it let me get about 5 ft away before it took off. Oh, once it took off, it was FAST. I thought maybe a peregrine falcon but when I looked up pictures it doesnt quite look the same.

A sharpie has long skinny legs and a small head. Jay sized more or less
a coop has the larger head and stouter legs
On the other end of the continuem a goshawk would be very stout, with an eyeline, and a white tipped tail
great photos of
a coop
