hi,i was just lookind at the carranza road photos where the road turns from pavement to sand.i cannot find any info if that road which starts at rt.206,then goes to friendship was there before carranzas crash, but please correct if i am wrong on anything ,if it wasnt,to me history was changed if it wasnt.one of the branches of the tuckerton stage road is not very far off to where carranza road is,as the crow flies from my house to my dock on great bay boulevard in little egg harbor is 52.7 miles,i have several different ways of going to my dock, sometimes through pemberton to magnolia road, four mile circle to rt.72,then rt.539 to tuckerton, which comes out to 63 miles,if i take carranza rd.which is actually my favorite way,the mileage is 59 miles.sometimes even though it is slower but shorter,i cut straight through friendship instead of turning left onto speedwell road,i cut straight thru friendship, going through past hawkins bridge, godfrey bridge, then past the public campground out to rt.563 past micks,my speed is limited to 20 mph,but the old saying, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.i traveled by car and 4by4 on tuckerton road out to maxwell on rt.563,i went passed maxwell went a little distance where the road then took a big north turn, the road to bodines across the wading sort of disintegrated, the road to the north was a big washout, did not want to try that even in my 4by4.i will hopefully in the spring try to find going by bodines way, crossing the wading and try to find, then explore the way to maxwell on tuckerton road.just thinking how the carranza crah changed history, the distance from carranza to tuckerton road at that point is nothing.wouldnt it be great to take the tuckerton road, cross the wading, maybe stop at a new brew place having some cold ones then on to tuckerton.question for guy,why was tuckerton road changed to iron pipe going to maxwell?thanks, jimbo
