This stone is on the line dividing Camden and Burlington County and the Townships of Evesham and Berlin. It is also near the border of the Pinelands jurisdictional boundary for Berlin Township. It stands nearly 3' tall and inscribed C.L., which we believe stands for for "County Line". It appears to be set deep in the ground and could probably stop a car.
I am not performing the survey on this lot but our firm is doing all of the site engineering for the development of a business. I was out there today doing soils work. The stone is located in an area that should remain protected. I would like to do a little research on the deed references to this stone as it has really piqued my interest. I am wondering if it could date to the creation of Camden County in 1844 ??
