Still seeking volunteers to assist with the Broom Crowberry project.
Some of the area was recently driven upon by a large truck, went around the cable - gates it appears and drove through some of the crowberry area. I hope to purchase some cables to block some of the area and the state will install "State Natural Area" signs near the large pit area north of range road. No it won't stop it all.
Brush will continue to be removed and placed into larger piles.
If interested let me know. I will then put you in touch with the person from DEP that runs the project. He is a really good guy who has been working on these type of projects for many years. Some are weekdays, but also can be done on your own once shown what to do with the cut pines and oaks. There are ticks. But normally in the plains they are not as numerous as other locations in the pines.
