I was just searching through my own gallery and I came across this photo that I took:

It is from approximately June of 2003 in Estelleville. Well, I never really looked at it very well before and I decided that it is a really cool picture. I was just wondering if the nature enthusiasts on this bbs might be able to identify what is going on in this picture? What are these plants?

Ben, we are all nature enthusiasts, right? 8)

That is hair cap moss. Those pods you see are spore cases, ready to break open and spread the DNA around. Here is a photo of same from my gallery (at dover forge canoe drop-off).

Yes, I recognize the moss, but why are the dead leaves on the ground purple? Camera glitch maybe?
