Monmouth University's summer field school is in full swing at
Merchants and Drovers Tavern in historic Rahway

Visitors are welcome to come see the archaeologists, including several ASNJ members, at work. To date, we have uncovered part of a mid-19th century brick walkway, the foundation of an early-19th century store, and sections of the paved
tavern yard. Visitors are welcome this Saturday between 10:00 AM and
2:00 PM. Directions to the site are available on the tavern's web
page--see above. Please do not attempt to park in the tavern yard as I
can't afford to lose any excavators to an errant automobile!
