I explored around beaver dam lake last year. Nice area, felt mt miseryish as you got out towards arrowhead drive. Was looking at area for possible rare snake species, no luck though.
I tried fishing the north edge (State-owned) of Beaver Dam Lake about 40 years ago. It lasted about 37 seconds.
I parked on Burnt Mill and quietly snuck to the edge of the lake early on a Sunday morning with an old Gibbsboro buddy of mine. I casted a Texas-rigged rubber worm as far as I could. As soon as it splashed the surface I heard a man yell, "Get the hell out of here, I'm calling the Police right NOW!" He was yelling from his back porch. I offered him a congenial G-F-Y- and me and my buddy skedaddled back to my truck.
Ironically, many years later, a friend of mine gained permission to fish there from a long-time resident. I was then able to tag along as a mystery guest with him. Even more ironic is that the guy who yelled at me lived right next door to this woman. I never shared my ejection story with the woman.
The fishing was insanely good.
