I never know whether to post this stuff under trip report, nature and the environment or here. I went fishing this morning. My first stop was a bog I had never hit before.
Well, clearly I was going to have a hard time catching a fish without water. A bog that flucuates this dramatically with the seasons is never going to have serious pickerel in it. So it was off to a familar haunt. Water levels being particularly low, I realized my best bet was the "center cut" in this old bog. this required me to navigate my was across floating spaghum islands where every step brought the threat of crashing through to the depths below. I just had to hope those depths didn't exceed 6'.
reaching the center cut
and there you go
These last two "action shots" were taken closer to shore before making my way to the center cut.
