There were more than one. I have GOT to get a decent camera. I won't give out the location except to say it was quite remote and where you would expect to see them.

I believe there were at least three that I walked up on. This one chose to fight and never did turn belly up. About 20 inches. Mean girl. Hissed like a punctured tire. Struck at me 6 times.

"A Feild guide to the pine Barrens of NJ" by Howard Boyd is a must!! Howard is a great guy with a real passion for the barrrens. He is also a wealth of knowledge, both in history, but especially on the flora and fauna (more so the flora). He sells the book and signs it at the Whitesbog Blueberry festival, but the book is available at several locations. Marilyns's (Buszby's) is one.
