Very impressive! I'm curious... do you have any idea of what percentage of that total is new trash (stuff that was dumped after the 2011 cleanup)?

A real mixture here Boyd. Let me try to hazard a guess:

85% stuff 2 years or older from places we've been meaning to get to.
15% new stuff (some of it in Swain's Bogs, a bad dumping ground).

Not to worry. I found out on the internet that they have cameras one can now put in trees. Fancy that! :D

Your welcome, Bob. Always a pleasure to help out! We got lucky with the weather that morning, I'm glad the heavy rain waited until we were finished.

I just read the email from Kerry on how much trash was collected. I was impressed by 539 tons collected in 19 years! Thats alot of trash!

We have to get a camera on a couple of the hot spots.

The area I was in mainly involved several large piles of shingles. Looked like a single contractor dumping on the same road over a period of time. Cameras would be nice there.

No Bob, the parks employees are the last ones to deserve thanks. We were being paid to be there on that day. You and all the others who volunteered your time are the heros of the day. :)

They are already working to get the totals way up for next year.

It may be because of the fire pit they have there; however, in the end someone has to pick up their mess.

Unfortunately, that is the truth. Next time you are there, take a look and count the number of pines cut down in the area. It is a mess!
