Friendship question!

Does anyone know when, and by whom, the buildings were burned in Friendship? I think Maryanne Thompson told me once, but I wasn't listening carefully enough to remember now. That was a couple years ago. I'm very curious what happened to the town. The book, Heart of the Pines, simply says it was arson, but gives no details.

Back when I had my site up, I got an email from someone who said that bikers used to party back there. The author claimed that one day he went back there and the houses were all burnt down, and there were chicken feathers scattered all over.

The houses were supposedly still standing up until the late 1970s.

I hope to put it back up eventually. I don't get down into the Pines as much as I would like. Unfortunately lack of a 4wd vehicle makes adventures hard to do.
