I'm not really into birding but I find birds of prey to be awesome creatures. Today my mom came into our house saying there was a bald eagle flying over our house in haddonfield. I laughed at her thinking there was no way a bald eagle would be in camden county let alone haddonfield. Well she was right soaring way over our house was the visible white tail and head of a eagle. I think it is pretty amazing that 25 years ago there was one nesting pair in cumberland county and today in 2006 I saw one flying over my house. I'm guessing this is just because this is the season for the hawk migration. Also today I saw a few red tails and two sharpies around my neighbors bird feeders, nice to see some wildlife in the suburbs.

Dragon,

Very nice to hear that! It would be nice if it became commonplace.

BTW, did you capture the red fox yet on the camera?

And have you ever walked the trail on Devon Ave right at the corner just before entering Bellmawr at the intersection of the road going to the swim club? It was a former dump and there is a poorly maintained trail that eventually meets the creek.

Anyway, my wife and I walked it a few weeks back and on the way out right by the road hidden in the woods was a 20-30 gallon plastic storage container with the lid on it. I opened it and it was filled with parking and moving violation tickets and corrections papers of a criminal who had spent a year in jail. There were letters from his mom while he was in jail telling him to get a job in the jail. Tickets from every town in South Jersey with missed court dates, summonses and any legal document you could imagine. Even photo's of him. It was from a man in Pennsauken. There was also a Bible and two pairs of sneakers in it which made me believe he got out of jail, collected all his possessions and dumped them there.
We were waiting for him to come around the corner and kill us so we left. It may still be there.

Guy, did not get the fox yet, my dad actually saw one inspecting our pond about last sunday. I believe he is probably from the population at tavistock c.c. As for that trail at devon I walked it when I was a kid. Back then there was a pretty stable population of natural light beer cans, box turtles and supposedly an owl back there. My sister lives a block from there and there are a few fox back on that trail and at canon park in heights. I'm taking the camera back out to the pines today so no fox for now.
