im planning a hike the weekend of the 25th of April. im hiking on the west side of the Mulica, where i have never hiked. i posted my planned hike. what are things i can look for in this area (where CAMERA placemark is). the lines are not perfect. just my general hike. from Chews Landing Rd. to Bodine Field. the next day hike back. many of you know this area. is there something to see? suggest a different route? any help woud be appreciated.

its just walking :) going out to have some fun

Not too much on the Fireline Rd. out where I was Sunday a.m. I just hiked out there Easter morning from Batsto to Constable Bridge and up to the river gauge station on the Mullica. You'll know you're there when you start seeing all the piping in the ground. Some nice clear streams and brooks out there though. I could see the big swamp through the woods but didn't feel like bushwacking Sunday. If there are any ruins, let me know, that's what I like to find. I'll keep an eye out for ya, we'll be out at Mullica Camp that evening.

Karl,

All of the white area near your camera are large savannahs. I love exploring them but if there is water in them which I suspect there is right now, your legs will get really fatigued on that long a hike. But you may want to poke into a few.

Wescoat Bogs is a real gem that if you are near you have to visit. That is the fan shaped bog above your camera and you can enter it here.

There is an interesting bridge there that has been burned, and to get into the bogs there you have to cross a board. A really nice place.

If you have not been to Rockwood which is indicated by your blue pin, there are ruins there to check out, but they are private so keep that in mind. The state property just misses them. They yellow tape them off during hunting season to keep hunters from using there property so they have it to themselves; however, the rest of the year the tape is laying on the ground.

we're canoeing out. I'm seeing weather much like this weekend for next, looks like we'll all get good days.
