Yeah I did. Who would have thought that a new born black rat snake would look so completely different than an adult.

I'm no herpatologist, but I would have NEVER guessed a black rat snake either! Who would a thunk it??

I used to know that fact when I was a kid but if I had been asked now, I might have said it was a baby chicken snake. I wonder how long it takes them to make the change. I bet that's an interesting looking snake while the change is happening. Maybe it changes over the winter.
