Gee 46'r, can't you, who scours the internet for interesting tid-bits, come up with a better photo than that for our majestic mammal? If it wasn't for the hairless coat, I'd have no idea what that is.
Very much like the Native Americans that depended on it. To this day, every winter, the gubmint continues to kill the bison.

In 2004 I was fishing Slough Creek in Yellowstone and this guy snuck up behind me. Fortunately he kept plodding on his way. Amazing how quiet a 1 ton animal can be

Old news for me Bob-O, I used to pass that ranch on the way to work. When your in the area stop by and get some fresh Buf-Steaks. Great on the grill and healthier than beef, just cook them rare, the more well done the tougher it is. But thanks for the effort
