All,

Jessica, Al, and I did some early morning exploring today, and while heading to an island we had to cross a cedar swamp. We noticed some cedar cutting on the way there.

We finally found girls size 6 knee highs for Jessica's feet.

When we arrived at the enclave we found that someone was building this. It appears they just stopped work on it because it does not seem to be extremely recent.

Heh, when I was a kid we went back in the woods near my old man's house and started a similar cabin project, except ours was raised up on four tree trunks sunk into the ground at the corners. We got maybe 10% done when it started to be clear how big a bite we'd taken. For all I know that 10% of our cabin is still standing back in the Indiana woods. Perhaps something similar happened here.

I built a cabin out of pine without the bark taken off.It lasted about 15 years before rotting into nothingness.Cedar lasts much longer. You had to crawl for 100 yards to get to my cabin and it never appeared that anyone ever found it.It was on the west side of union lake in a massive briar thicket with the biggest pine trees I have ever seen and red squirrels out the wazoo. The base of it is still recognizeable.I built it in 84.
