Ro & I drove out today to the cranberry bogs east of Lebanon Lakes - old map says "McDonald". We hiked the perimeter of the bogs, saw the structure below on the dike at the head/east end.
Water control? Why sitting up on the dike?
Also counted over 70 Tundra Swans on the bogs. Wonderful hearing them "talking".
We returned home via NJ 532 into Tabernacle and saw this world class collection of airborne sneakers on the way to Tabernacle. Anyone want to see if Guiness has a class for this?
Crossed Burnt Bridge on NJ 563 and Wading River was 'way, WAY high....

Snow Geese and Tundra Swans talking. Isn't that a beautiful sound? I parked near a bog once with a large flock of Snow Geese on the water, talking. Fell asleep to the music!

Al, that's where we parked and started/ended our walk. Back home and marked 7 1/2 quadangle - shocked to discover I'd done part of it and part to the west 35+ years ago. Memory a blank on that one....
We live between McDonald and your place - please give us a buzz next time you go there.

Al, take Johnnyb up on that. He and his wife Ro are great people. Johnny is a hell of a good all around guy and a great conversationalist. He's been around.
