I shoot a Nikon D50, but I went with a Sigma 18-125mm 1:3.5-5.6. It's not a fast lens, but it works pretty good for the type of photography I do. I did want something for the macro shots though, and I just used the 28-80mm lens that came with the camera and got a set of Macro filters. I only use them on the stock lens because the 58 diameter filters were cheaper than the 62 for the Sigma. If I made more money, I would have probably gotten a better, faster lens, but this was all my bank could take, and I'm not saving forever to shoot pictures later. Photography stuff is pretty cheap right now because of everything and I'm sure you could find something on sale somewhere.
