Lines on the Pines

A Special Notice from Linda Stanton:

This year we are calling our annual event:

Lines on the Pines:
Pine
A Barrens Celebration

Featuring Howard Boyd. Howard will also be the keynote speaker at dinner. Jim Murphy of the Pine Barons will be the musical entertainment. ...and just possibly the rest of the band might be able to be there as well!!

The event is booked at the Vienna Inn in Egg Harbor City on Sunday, March 8, 2009.

http://vienna-inn.com/default.aspx

Though the restaurant does not typically open until 4:00 p.m. on Sundays, they will open at 1:00 p.m. for us. The bar and bar food will be available from 1:00 p.m. throughout the day. I think you will all be pleased with the setting and arrangements.

Our book-signing and exhibit event will start at 1:00 p.m. this year and end at 4:00 p.m. Dinner will start at 4:30 p.m. so folks can get an extra ½-hour to start on their way home. It will be over by 7:30 p.m.

Dinner will be buffet style and the cost per person is $30 if paid prior to February 1. After that date the dinner cost will be $33 and the additional monies raised will go towards the free dinners that I can offer to entertainers and special guests. This year any additional monies raised will go towards free door prizes drawn at random for dinner participants.

Reserved spots for authors, artists and websites invited should be made prior to January 20 so as to be included in the poster ads.

So come one, come all! I am looking forward to seeing each and everyone one of you at the Vienna Inn this year. And I am looking forward to a full reunion of the rowdies at the infamous “Table 9”!!!

Best regards,
Jerseyman

Who is the "our" in the annual event? Is this a PBF sponsored event?

Hawkin Native:

The “our” is strictly Linda and her unofficial cast of co-conspirators. While many folks from these forums attend the event, it is in no way sponsored by Ben or NJPineBarrens.com. If you haven’t been to it before, I suggest you consider attending!

Best regards,
Jerseyman

Free dinners for entertainers?

Well,
Define "entertainment" & I will see if I can scam one of those free meals.
I've already looked into the numbering of tables.
That of course depends on the customer and the event.
#9 comes to mind.
Just the same all, I plan to attend and hope to see many NJPB members enjoy the venue and support the event.

I wonder what Howard will think of the table 9 crew? They probably are onto them and will seat them in a different room. :D

I hope to come again. Jessica may make it this year.

My lovely wife and I are in.
I hope to be seated with the Niners again.
Last year they gave us a dignitary to sit at our table. He was a world traveler and interseting as hell.
This year, they will probably give us a blow-up doll.

Thanks Tom! My wife will not be attending this year; however, Jessica will be taking her place. We hope to meet some of the regulars and first timers from this site.

I got the email announcement two weeks ago. She indicated that it would be the only notification.
It is the text that Jerseyman had posted.
I have not signed up yet. I assume that signing up will be through the restaurant because the announcemnet did not indicate otherwise.

I do not think so.
I got the exact same thing like you said. She wrote that it was to save $$.
As well it was being circulated to boards like this one.
I read her email and saw nothing either. I still have the invitation card and address from last year. I believe it was her own address so I think not best to publish without permission. I'll just drop a reply with the question about where to send. That or Jerseyman probably already has the answer. Let you know.

I did not get the email.

Guy

It was almost an exact match to what Jerseyman posted here.
Nothing much different really.

** As an edit to my original response to Scott.... while the address I had was one thing, I looked up my old check and it was in fact made out to "Sweetwater Casino", reference was the event.
You could be right Scott.
Chances are you're spot on about the blow up doll as well.
