We spent the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) scoping out access routes to look for stones this fall. We put 18,000 steps on Jessica's fit bit which included walking up this semi impressive stone hill near Route 72. There were others nearby and it was obvious some of them had been mined in the past for the sandstone.

I took today off and met up with Bob ... and we explored in multiple places. On our travels near Route 72 at Butler Place we passed state employees doing ground water tests in two water gaging stations, and we stopped and spent a few minutes talking with them. Those green stations have pipes in them that go down 200 feet into bedrock. They were putting pipes down them to test the water for seawater and various other things. Very nice men to talk with.

Nearby in the ground we saw this as we walked back to our vehicles.

In a burned area we could see thousands of new pine trees growing trying their best to close off and fill in the tighter sand roads in the area. If left undisturbed many of the roads will eventually disappear.

We visited some seriously remote places today and this gum tree was pretty impressive. Don't see many that big.
