Pestletown, N.J.
I got up early yesterday to take advantage of our brief deep freeze hoping to get some good ice photos along the Albertson Branch near my house.
I had my woods puppy, Hunter, with me who is a 5 month old Springer.
It was a balmy 7 degrees when we left the house.

Surprisingly, the open bogs were tightened up as I expected but the Albertson looked like an inviting spa with a thin veil of fog swirling across the surface.
The only ice was on the very edges.

First stop was the original Rosedale Gun Club on the bank of the Branch.
The dog is waiting for a handout at the backdoor.

Next we hit the Branch and jumped three mallards which cannot be seen here:
The Branch looks warm and hospitable:

Smoke on the water . Denh denh denh, denh denh denh denh!

The next photo depicts the striking winter clarity of the water. If you look into the reflection of the cedar tree you can se the yellow sand bottom.:

Here is the handsome lad looking through the grass:

It was a good way to start the day.

Excellent photo's Scott! A nice capture of our back yard.
Yesterday morn' was a cold-un. When I got up the mercury read zeero.
I studied on a walkabout because it was so still with no wind I figured not too bad. I had other stuff to do unfortunately.
I am so glad to see in the tradition of all your youngin's on two legs or four, you've wasted no time in woodsin' him up! I wish you and Dottie joy with him.
They grow up so fast it's hard to believe 'eh?
In October....

As always, i appreciate your photos Scott, they are excellent, nice report, as i said before i really like your new Dog.

On one of my future outings, i will be introducing my new 8 month old puppy to the members, i had her out once in the Pines so far to check her out, but i went camera less that day.
