The next time you visit the site, you'll see a number of new features....

Click the wrench button to set a custom home location to open the site anywhere you like. You can also choose different icons for the home button and set the default for the center crosshairs

Click the heart button to open the favorites menu. You will find it familiar - it's exactly the same as the NJPB maps menu!

But it's fully customizable: choose any maps you like and even change their names with the favorites editor. The menu can be as long or short as you wish, and Expert Mode allows advanced users to do even more customization.

Another major new feature is the ability to open Google, Bing or NJPB maps of your current location. You can also open NJPB map links on the site.

Now, this is a lot of new code, all written from scratch, so there are probably some bugs I haven't caught yet. Please post here if you find any! To learn more about these new features, have a look at the help pages:

The new customizable features store preferences on your computer using the Web Storage API, which is an updated version of the old website "cookie" system. It should be supported in all recent web browsers (Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, Edge) however it is not compatible with Internet Explorer. If you are using incognito or private browsing mode it also won't work. Some 3rd party plugins might also block it. I have tested it in Safari and Chrome on the Mac and Firefox and Chrome on Windows and didn't have any problems.
