They say all attempts to get oil and gas is what they consider "hard oil" and this is one way to get it. I know someone who lives where they are doing it and their wells are in trouble. I also talked to a man late last year who lives there and he says they are destroying the town. The residents had the chance a few years back to get money to store medical radiation waste underground and they rejected it, but for some reason they are letting the fracking occur. He felt the radiation would have been a better choice.
We are very fortunate the barrens do not have what they need for oil or they would have been destroyed by now.
