After the PBX after hike party on Saturday I was driving home via sandy ridge road. About a mile north of Hawkin's bridge (a little before 10pm) I came upon about 10 jeeps going the oppisite way. they kindly pulled over to let me pass. As I passed the first he called out to me. I stopped and backed up to his window.

He asked if I had heard of the missing scout leader. I hadn't. Apparently a scout leader (presumably from the hawkin's bridge campsite) was missing. He mentioned being on the look out and contacting the ranger office if I found him.

I couldn't help to feel bad for the poor guy. Not only for being lost, but for the somewhat humiliating circumstance of being a lost boy scout leader. volunteering his time for the kids and look what happens. Hope they found him okay.

Hopefully, we will hear the outcome of that from someone.

I used to be a Scout leader many moons ago. There were times on some outings when I wish I were lost; the summer week at Brookville was always the most challenging. Hope the Scouts didn't tie him to a tree somewhere and he walks out on his own. :D

I remember walking the road between hawkins bridge and the hawkins bridge campsite which is maybe 100 yards:) and a bunch of scouts past me and Whip mon the way to the bridge. They were laughing and hollering they were going to the bridge to check out the women. These boys were between maybe 9 and 11 years old.Dirty old men in the making, did my heart good to see em:)
Actually their language was a little more graphic so these were hardcore dirty old men in the making.
