More flooding in N.J.? Get used to it, climatologist says

The heavy rainfall during Irene and Lee followed a wetter than normal month, which helped exacerbate flooding.“The ground just can’t absorb much of that rain falling,” said state Climatologist David A. Robinson at Rutgers University. “The rivers, which at this time of the year tend to be at their seasonal lows, were continuing to run several times what it normally is this year.”

Yep, that was proven yesterday around my way. Pretty much RT-168, RT-30, RT-130 and the other major highways connecting these routes were all closed at rush-hour due to massive tidal flooding.

I hear the Brooklawn Cicle was flooded again tonight. One woman from work took 3 hours to get home last night trying to go through there.
