Franklin Township............This week the township committee members consented to the settlement with Greenways that allows the developer to build 238 single family and townhouse units and 196 multi-family units on a parcel at Pennsylvania Avenue and Grubb Road, plus 31 more units at other locations in the township.
The 438 units at the Grubb Road location will be serviced by public water and sewer lines that the developer has agreed to run from the township-owned Meredith Farms redevelopment site on Route 40 at Weymouth Road.
As part of the settlement, Greenways has agreed to pay $528,000 to the township for use of 115,000 gallons of Landis Sewage Authority's 400,000 gallon-per-day sewage capacity available at the Meredith Farms connection. A $75,000 payment to hold the lines open is due to the municipality no more than 30 days after the settlement agreement is finalized.

Having a hard time figuring out where the development is occurring. Pennsylvania ave has some nice woodlands, hope its not there...it will burry 100's of box turtles.

Unbelievable! Abuse of the constitution. Townships having to provide low income housing. At the end of the article it mentions that a couple sued the twp and won on grounds of racial discrimination due to the fact that the town did not allow for the development of low income housing. They got $100,000 for it. Hey, now they can live there.

Only having read the article, it seems the township was forced into this settlement (despite political comments to the contrary). You can't fight city hall? well, with enough $ and some good lawyers you can totally beat down city hall apparently. A great example of capitalism and socialism working together to cut down the pine barrens.

If the plot is right on PA ave, then that is a ashame. That is a nice little stretch right there with some of the pb species in there.

My favorite line is it provide lots of construction jobs in the short term. We need to consider some long term things soon, we continue to focus on the short term with everything, led by our government. Where are these people working 10 years from now, its fricking Franklinville, good luck getting to the jobs in Camden county or Philly. Tough being a social darwinist these days.
