Here is an interesting link that you may want to check out. It is a Google like map that is slightly different. And check out the link button at the bottom right. Geocachers and Benchmark hunters may find it easier than searching geocaching.com.

All,

It does not seem to work on my Mac, but one feature on this site lets you create a route and save it as a GPX file and then upload it to your GPS using third party software such as EasyGPS.

Click on the Link button at the bottom right, and then the Gmaps Pedometer link and give it a try if you want. It may take some time to first figure it out, but apparently it works.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't zoom in any farther than the satellite photos on Google Maps. At Max Zoom on both sites I get the legend which shows 50ft / 20m at the bottom left. If I switch to the DOQ option (which comes from Terraserver) then I can't even zoom in that far - the legend says 100ft / 50m at max zoom.
