All,
I have added a new album to my gallery that shows views of Apple Pie Hill from the past. Many of the long standing members have viewed these before, but some of you will see them for the first time. If you want to view them all at once, go to the link at the bottom of the page. I recommend following along with the text. Enjoy!
This photo shows the corner of the building that was there when I first visited APH in 1973. It had been vandalized and the doors and windows were missing. The floor was intact and we would go in there on cold winter days for protection from the weather and eat lunch. You can also see the two poles that were there at the time. I believe if you look closely in that area today, you can see where they were cut off at the ground. I may be wrong on that.
Also, notice how untidy the hill looked back then.

This photo shows what remained after the building was completely destroyed by fire before this photo was taken in the summer of 1980. If I had known how deep that hole was, I would not have jumped up and down on the plywood floor in previous years.

Another view.

This view shows the man who climbed up the pole while we were there. The photo is taken from the top of the tower. He eventually made it completely to the top.

And this final view shows my 1978 Land Cruiser along with my brother-in-law before he was my bother-in-law. The red arrow is pointing to the Reference Marker for the US Geological Survey that is presently buried under the fill they added when they put up the present guard rails.
