Just happened to stop by NJGIN today and was greeted with a nice surprise - infrared imagery from the National High Altitude Photography Program (NHAP) is now available! It was captured during the period 4/3/1981 – 5/13/1987, which encopasses a lot of years. Did not find any more specific information as to when the individual plates were photographed, so you'll need to draw your own conclusions about that. Resolution of the original imagery is supposed to be .75m/pixel, however it looks pretty soft when you zoom past level 16. Also, the stated accuracy is +/- 10 meters (33 feet), so don't expect too much.

Aside from making sure it works, I haven't spent any time looking at this myself and I'm busy writing code for the mobile app, so let me know what interesting things you find! It's available now on the desktop site. Am preparing a major update to the mobile app which will (hopefully) launch by the end of the weekend and it will include these.

Interesting. Now I can see exactly where they were taking cedar out of the Chamberlin Branch behind Bamber when I moved in.

Really cool. 1980s time-machine. I bet I can find myself on a dirtbike somewhere between Medford and Chatsworth.

Yeah, back then, I had a Hodaka 125 (Combat-Wombat). I used to ride all around Greenwood Forest without a helmet, just a beanie on my head. One thing that really strikes me is, I was riding on that set of hills that is gone, due to that sand mine expansion. Really sad. Now you see it, now you don't. It's odd to think they had the temerity to take it down. I think I lived in Lakehurst when it was still a big hill. I think it was razed in 1978 or so.

I have photos of it being razed.

I am in the process of switching computers and will look for it later today. I posted it before showing my vehicle on the top of the hill.
