Ben, and all,
I've been meaning to post this for a good while. Ben, you posted a website about the origin of most local names in New Jersey. Well here's one that allows you to search out any local name in New Jersey. If you type in the local place name, and leave the county and municipality fields blank it will tell you what municipality and county that place is located in. If you type in Washington for example, it will name off all Washingtons in New Jersey. There are maybe 5 Washington Townships, one of them being the one we know in Burlington County. It will also bring up the borough of Washington (I think that's what it is) in Warren County. We up in North Jersey used to call it "Little Washington".
Anyway it's a very helpful website: http://www.state.nj.us/infobank/locality.htm
