No stranger ranger than this....

I stumbled across this website that was created by a local Forest Ranger. It makes for a good laugh, although I can't help but to be a bit concerned.....

I probably wouldn't have posted this if it hadn't been the case that many of our Rangers are, well, not very nice.

Kinda scary to know that this guy is supposed to be protecting and serving us.....let's just hope that he's not doing this crap on the time that we pay for.

Anyhow, hope that this makes for a good belly laugh.

Thank you for posting this. That website has solved a mystery that we encountered on the "High Plains Drifting" Pine Barrens Explorer (PBX) hike. Let me explain.

Bob, Steve, and I, along with other members of the PBX club were in the Sim Place/Warren Grove area and entered a swamp and came upon this.

We had thought someone had been murdered, but after looking that website over I came to the airplane crash section and noticed the coordinates of where it occurred. It is right near that location, and it is the same year (1974). The swamp we were at is the only one at that location.

Here is the photo and the crash report from that site. Notice the pilot was female.

It does not give her name, but with the coordinates the crash report gives, I am certain I am correct. Also, if you read all of the report, you will see the plane was heading to North Jersey, and according to the license plate on the tree, she was from NY.

I found a PDF file with the complete report and the plane is from NY. It is registered to the other person in the plane. This more than ever confirms my belief I am correct.

Good catch Guy, it is interesting when the information you need to put a mystery to rest falls into you're lap unexpectedly. It is a testiment to how observant you are that you put two and two togather on this.

Pinelandpaddler, thanks for the link. I totally agree with you that our rangers are "not very nice". So now armed with this information, if this guy ever gives me a hard time for...i don't know, being in the woods (seems like they don't need much of an excuse) I'll just tell him that an alien made me do it. Maybe it will get me off the hook.

Looks like the de-ranged ranger caught wind of the gossip and decided to save himself some embarassment! Good riddance.

I guess my email to him didn't help.

Guy,

You sent him an email? Ha! I'd like to see that.

I asked him if my assumption was correct that the cedar swamp where I found the memorial was the exact spot. If so could he tell me more about it. He never responded so I was checking his site again to see if I missed something and notice it was gone.
