In case anyone is unaware: NJDMV is only testing for emmissions during inspections now. And motorcycles are no longer required to be inspected or to display registration stickers (still has to be registered though).

I just hope everyone keeps up with their brake maintenance.

You can still be stopped by the police and they can ticket you.

THis is being done to cut a major cost in out sourcing the inspections. Another reason is so that local police dept. can set up the mobile roadside inspections. THis will generate more localized tickets thus, help generate more payable violations to the twp increasing there funds. Yes there are things they will not see such as bad brakes, but all other visable violations will be more heavly inforced.

everyone should familiarize them selves with the inspection laws. I took a vehicle through inspection in June and at the end the guy said i failed becouse i had a turn signal cover that was missing but yet the light worked. I had him call over the supervisor and told him he could not fail me for the missing light cover, and that he had to pass me and only advise me to get it fixed becouse the light still worked technicaly. He agreed, removed the rejected sticker and passed me!
