In a somewhat off-topic piece of news, October is Pennsylvania Archaeology Month. For history lovers, there may be things of interest even though its not Jersey or pinebarrens related material. During the whole month, the archaeology laboratory at the old visitor's center in Philadelphia (at 3rd and Chestnut) will be open to the public where you can see me and other staff members working on collections from the National Constitution Center site, from 9 am to 5 pm daily. It is largely an 18th Century collection, with everything from ceramics to faunal remains. We will address questions from the public about history, archaeology and artifacts. Also, presentations will be made about Philadelphia archaeology. Tables will also be open at the NCC building on Market Street, with posters, artifacts, etc.

Hi Joe!

How strange! I don't actually work for the park service directly, but rather for a CRM firm contracted by the NPS. I will definitely stop by some day and say hello. I wonder if you'll be able to spot the piney before I introduce myself??

That sounds like a new game; SPOT THE PINEY!!!

"AH' Think Thas' Herr over yonder, the one in her stockin' feet!":D

For a prize you could win a jar of sugar sand and a cedar walking stick.

I myself am an easy enough target to spot around here, you can't miss my long brown pony tail. It generally makes me stick out a wee bit. There are two interp guys with longer hair, but I'm a CRMer.

I think we may have actually been introduced on the fly when your firm first arrived, but it was hectic and more of a group hello then introduction.
