According to Pop Photo. Might be something to it, as just about every active photog I know complains of either, shoulder, back or knee pain but mostly those that carry 'bazookas'; a 'bazooka' being a large focal length lens, i.e. 400mm and up. The others are those that bring the kitchen sink in their camera bag. I'm a minimalist; one body, one/two lenses, 2 batteries and filter kit and more often lately, since I no longer market my stuff, a nice little Panasonic Lumix :D

Getting up from a chair and going into the woods with a heavy backpack is like going from a cold start to 100 mph. After learning the hard way, I now train for the woods by running, lifting and stretching. The killer is sitting in a chair, leaning forward all day.
