This website introduced me to some of the plants in the pine barrens.

If you are somewhat new to plant ID, you should pick up a copy of Howard Boyd's Wildflowers of the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. I'm normally not a fan of field guides with photographs rather than drawings, but the way the plants are arranged in order of the dates they bloom makes this book really convenient for beginners.
