I plan on taking a short hike with my Cub Scout den. I camp at Bellhaven; just down the road from the Green Bank Inn. The trail crosses Evan's Bridge on 563 just a few miles from my campground. I wanted to start a Evan's and hike for approx. 3 hours round trip. As I said, a short hike.

I wanted to see if I could get any input. Which way should I head? Is there anything special to see along that lenght of trail? Is there anywhere to swim? Do I need any special permits?

I am a complete novice when it comes to hiking in the Barrens and being a Den Leader, so any help is greatly appreciated. If any other scout or scout leaders read this, please give me your contact info. Thanks.

i would go south. you will cross 679 and head towards bass river. after bridge that feeds lake you can go right, around harrisonville lake and back to 679 crossing.
either way south has more sites of water and little bridges.
