All,

Here is a photo of a historical marker from 1978 at the Red Man Hall in Indian Mills. The first photo show the marker and you can see the hall in the background. The second photo shows most of the building. The third photo was taken three years later after the building had been renovated. I believe that the sign was no longer there if my memory is correct. I also believe that the building in the background in the last photo, was the recently built Indian Mills Municipal building.

Can anyone tell me if I am correct on it being the municipal building, and is there presently a historical sign there at the hall? Can anyone tell me the intersecting streets where this is at? It has been since 1981 that I was there and I am uncertain of the streets.

I couldn't get the pictures when I clicked onto them. Is there a different way I can get them? What are the directions to Indian Mills? I've read about the area and would like to go there. Is there still a cemetery there?

Genie,

Unfortunately I only have 25MB of web space available to me to upload photo's to, so when I reach my limit I delete old photo's that have been there for a while. That is what happened here. So I have reposted them at the links below. The first one shows the sign which disappeared as most of them do, the second shows more of the building, both taken in 1978, and the third shows the building in 1981 after renovations.

It has been since the last photo was taken since I have been there, so I can't tell you exactly where it is. But I believe the municipal building can be viewed in the last photo. I just checked it on the map and the municipal building is located at Stokes and Willow Grove road, and I am almost sure that is where this building is. If you are coming from Medford on Route 70 just head down 541 (Stokes Road) for about 5 or 10 miles. If you are coming up 206 from the Hammonton area, just a short distance past Atsion 541 comes in on the left.

By the way, the residents of Indian Mills now call it Shamong township.
