I tend to believe the rumor that Apple discovered it :) They want their computers to work perfectly :)

New Sandy Bridge CPUs & Computers Available in April: If you recently purchased a desktop, laptop, or computer parts with Intel Sandy Bridge technology (Core i5-2500 or Core i7-2600), you will have to wait until April until replacement parts are available for you. This news comes from Tom's Hardware, a good source for computer technology information, who reports the problem lies with the chipset's Serial-ATA controller.

The Sandy Bridge systems are the best performing systems available, or at least will be when problems are fixed in a couple months. If you already purchased a computer with Sandy Bridge technology, contact your computer or motherboard manufacturer for replacement information, or consider returning your purchase. Even though Sandy Bridge parts are still available at some stores, we recommend holding off until April.
