That always was a scary intersection. I have known it my whole life as "5 points" but the intersection lost its 5 points about 13 years ago. My parents always referred to it as Pipers Corner and I have seen that on old maps as well. Hate to say it, but that intersection needed a light years ago.

I'm sure they make the determination for traffic signals based on accident frequency. Yeah, I remember the first time I drove through there in 1993 - it scared me. But there aren't any other traffic signals in that general area that I can think of until you get to Tuckerton and 206 (I think that one just went in a few years ago also).

Yeah, I'm wondering why stop signs wouldn't get the job done? The intersection of Atsion and Jackson is much safer now that it's a 4-way stop.

Did not know that either. I don't go that way much anymore.

I am still trying to figure out all the new 3 and 4 ways stops all over my town.
