Wait, you may be right. I should have keyed it out, but I made a visual assumption (big no-no). Let me get back to you on that.

Gibby, you are right. You've done me quite a favor. I assumed it was another plant I already have in my collection.

Yes, Limonium carolinianum is what's in the photo. When I saw them last week in the saltmarsh, I thought they were Symphyotrichum tenuifolium, the saltmarsh aster. However, I could not understand why they were blue, but I just wrote it off to my weakening memory or the fact that some species can have a color range. Here's the real kicker, I already have them in my collection. Below is my label.

I am glad I could help out. For some reason or another, I remember looking at that blue flowered plant when I was looking for turtles in Cape May. The showy plants are what usual catch my eye.
