Still No Power

Still no power for about 400 new jersey people,Connecticut residents about 60,000.This should be awake up call to people to be prepared like our parents were years back in the hayday. Some people don't even keep a flashlight around.

We were fortunately out only 24 hours or so, and it was actually after the storm. I have friends in CT who are still out. This might have been the storm that finally pushes me to get a generator. In terms of preparedness, I keep a propane heater and two propane lanterns, as well as flashlights and candles. I prefer the propane equipment, even though you have to make sure of ventilation. The fuel is portable and not too expensive, and the lanterns will light an entire room bright enough to read, as well as putting out a fair amount of heat.
