PITTSGROVE — Parvin State Park is a shambles, more than a month after the violent June 30 thunderstorm downed hundreds of trees here that now litter trails, campgrounds and picnic areas. Officials predict most of the park will remain closed to the public for months. As of Thursday morning, 938 trees have been removed from the park since the storm and the damaged limbs from another 989 trees have been hauled away. But snapped trees and woodpiles are still common sights throughout the Almond Road park that spans 1,952 acres.
