Stream Assessment Volunteers Help Protect Our Local Streams
Saturday, September 18
10-1pm
Auletto's Catering Hall, Deptford

The South Jersey Land & Water Trust is gathering information on the health of local streams so as to prioritize future restoration efforts including stream cleanups, tree plantings, stream bank stabilizations, non-native species removal, and more.
Volunteer are needed to conduct visual assessments of stream reaches in the region's watersheds. During the assessment, both general and specific information about the stream reach and surrounding watershed is recorded (i.e. stream width and depth, bank stability, streamside vegetation, and surrounding land use).

ANYONE interested in healthier waterways can be part of this program. No specific background is required. Residents of any age, students, municipal officials, families, and farmers are all invited. Stream assessments can be done successfully with a small amount of training, although you will learn a lot from your participation. The program is user friendly and you can contribute as much or as little time as you like.
RSVP Required. Contact Christine at 856-881-2269 or cnolan@sjlandwater.org
