Ro & I were there 10 minutes early and there were maybe 25 cars parked along 7 Bridges Rd. We walked in the causeway, there were a number of "manned" card tables in the courtyard with pamphlets, brouchures, etc.
The lectures and exhibits were VERY interesting. Pleasure to meet such enthusiastic and knowledgeable people. Station involved in a number of projects including long term - 20+ years - monitoring of the marsha and waters and occupants. Did you know that the estuary there is at the top of the pristine ones in the east? or that herring go up the Batsto to spawn but don't/won't use the fish ladder to the lake and upper stream? or that tilefish burrow into the Atlantic sea floor? or that dolphins, which arrived while we were there, migrant north from NC? or that striped bass spawn in the local marshes? They are considering having another open house in October; there are no personnel or amenities to support visitors at other times.
