Mayor Albert Kelly, Civil War enthusiasts and community members gathered at Veterans Park Saturday to pay homage and celebrate the restoration of the statue, which was vandalized last year. Soldiers from a Civil War re-enactment group, a brass band and a 21-gun salute all brought an atmosphere of authenticity to the morning program.The head was found in a pond near the statue about a week after the vandalism was discovered.
